What makes Cap City DJs different than other DJs in the area?
It is our business philosophy. We consider ourselves much more than a DJ service in which a DJ shows up and plays music.
Beginning with your initial contact with us, we team up with you in finding out what your goal of a fun and successful event it. One or both of the owners comes to sit down and plan the D portion of your "big day."
We help you develop a timeline that promotes a fun reception or party with a great flow of events.
Another big difference is that you meet with the DJ who is assigned to work your event. You get to meet them face to face and develop that important rapport that leads to a successful event.
What types of music do you play?
We play everything! Our database consists of music from the roaring 20's and Big Band to the hits of the 50's to today. We provide you full access to our music library which gives you the opportunity to pick out some of your favorite songs you want heard at your event. Our extensive music selection allows those with all musical tastes to be happy and feel part of the celebration!
Can we choose the music played at our event?
Absolutely! We are very flexible regarding music selection. This is your event and we encourage you to customize it to your personality. We will send you a copy of the song lists for you to choose from. This is a tool that you can use from the comfort of your computer chair to pick your favorite tines! We have had clients that have chosen every song for the entire event, and others that have left the music selection completely up to us. Our recommendation is to provide us with a list of "Must Play," "Play if Possible," and "Do Not Play" songs. This will provide the DJ latitude to play other selections based on reading the crowd. It also gives us the opportunity to play requests. Our policy of meeting in person also helps in making sure that we are going to play the songs that you want!
Will you provide ceremony music and/or sound for our ceremony?
We can provide ceremony music and/or sound reinforcement for the ceremony. If the ceremony location is in the same area as the reception and no additional setup is needed, the rate is $100. If a separate ceremony setup is needed, the rate is $200. This includes a mixer, amplifier, speakers, music, and a wireless mic for the officiant.
Do I need to feed the DJ?
We leave that decision up to you. It is appreciated. If you are thinking of providing the DJ with a meal, you may want to discuss it with them at your planning meeting.
Is gratuity included in the price?
Gratuity is not included. Offering gratuity to the DJ is totally up to you. Our DJs work hard starting before the event with behind the scene preparations and make it their priority to ensure that everyone has a great time. If you believe the DJs service is exceptional, we are sure they would appreciate gratuity. It is never expected.
Do you take requests?
Requests are always welcome. We will accommodate as many requests as possible within the guidelines you set forth in our planning meetings. If a request falls into the "Do Not Play" category, we will not play it.
